“You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.” Psalm 86:15

Imagine what it would be like to see the world through God's eyes. How would you feel about the woman in the wheelchair at the grocery store? The neighbor kid who's just found out his folks are getting a divorce? The homeless guy on the park bench?

Seeing individuals the way God does makes you want to put love into action and help. That's compassion kicking in.

Compassion doesn't just feel sorry for people, though. It strives to make a positive difference in their lives. So, ask God to help you see through His eyes - then to let you know how to help. Even if the only action you can take is to pray, your compassion can make a difference in the world.

Final Thought

Man may dismiss compassion from his heart, but God will never. Now more than ever before, we must be moved with compassion to reach out to the world around us who is hurting and living in fear.

Prayer

Father, You see the world through eyes of compassion, and You care for everyone as if they were the only person in the entire world. I want to have that kind of compassion in my life. Help me to see people through Your eyes of love and take actions that will make a difference in my world. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.
