He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

After a long flight from the South Pacific, a family picked up their car and began a long drive from California to the East Coast, delighted to see America after several years away.

As they neared Tombstone, Arizona, a huge storm reached the peak of its intensity; thunder and lightning boomed and flashed ferociously. They were in awe and wanted to get closer to see the majestic beauty as lightning seemed to dance across the sky and around the buildings.

It was a different kind of natural display than what they saw in the South Pacific, a display only Creator God could perform, with lightning and thunder in perfect unison.

Recently I read the following from Corrie Ten Boom. “If you want to hear God's voice clearly and you are uncertain, then remain in His presence until He changes that uncertainty. Often, much can happen during this waiting for the Lord. Sometimes, He changes pride into humility, doubt into faith and peace.”

From one vantage point, a storm poses danger and warrants fear. From another vantage point, storms provide us a beautiful display that entertains and excites the senses.

Final Thought

The secret is to see God in the storm.

Prayer

Father, give me patience and wisdom so that I might see Your hand at work in my world, creating something beautiful. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.

I have learned to praise him in the storm. I have had a lot of storms in the past several months and I know that all I can do is to praise him, because I know he only wants good things for me, he loves me, and does not wish any harm on me. So I praise him, he provides my strengthen and my peace
