Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. James 5:13

Into every life a little rain must fall. Sometimes things go wrong. But sometimes things go right. And when they do, James says, we should praise God.

What's going right in your life today—what is making you happy? Is there a relationship in your life that's thriving? Do you have the simple blessings of a job and reliable transportation to work? Have you found an activity or service opportunity that brings you joy? You might have to do a little looking around and count your blessings; sometimes those little reasons for joy and gratitude get overlooked.

But when you find something to be happy about, be happy.

When we find ourselves in trouble, we need to turn to God for help and strength. But when things are going well, we—again—need to turn to God. He deserves our thanksgiving for the good things He gives us.

Final Thought

If we view life from the eyes of our Heavenly Father, we will be convinced that life is a joyous celebration. We know God is everywhere so as we pray carrying out our daily routines, we have every reason to give Him praise.

Prayer

Father, You have given me so many reasons to be joyful. Today I want to express my joy as praise to You. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.
